MV Desafío
The modern 24-passenger M/V DesafioAmazon Cruises Desafio is a newly renovated river vessel offering a fascinating cruise on the Amazon and Negro rivers. It displays wooden finishing and elegant decoration. The vessel is 109 feet long, fully air-conditioned and offers many of the same amenities found on larger ships. There is a nicely appointed restaurant and bar. Large sundeck with outdoor bar.
Explore the Amazon Rainforest both by canoe and on foot in the company of naturalist guides. This is truly one of the most fascinating wildlife destinations in the world. The cruises begin and end in Manaus, Brazil. Small enough for everyone to be on a first-name basis by the end of the first hours, our passengers feel at home in the heart of the Amazon. And our specialized multilingual hosts will be glad to tell the travelers every single detailed of wild life, flora and the Amazon way of living.
The cruises depart from Manaus, capital of the State of Amazonas, a city in the jungle that prospered during the rubber boom last century . There is a choice of four days cruises - one visits Jau national park and the other sails up the negro river, both of which include the “Meeting of the Waters”, where the Rio Negro and the Amazon River converge. For many miles the different colored waters don't mix! The cruises also include small boat excursions into the jungle with specialized guides who will explain the local flora and fauna. Piranha fishing and visits to native's communities along the river are also included.
